Welcome to 2011

Welcome to an exciting year of learning for 2011. This year our theme for the year is Kiwiana. During term one we will be getting to know each other and creating a positive learning environment. Room 20 children are in the process of creating their own Korowai (Maori Cloak) that represents our positive learning environment and the feathers represent the uniqueness of each child that makes up our room. I welcome photos of whanau and family for our special photo wall. Each child will be learning more about their heritage/whakapapa and they will each compile their own Nga Mihi to learn.

Term Four - Wearable Arts

Welcome to term four. This term our focus for innovations is "THE ARTS". Room 20 children have been looking at a variety of ways to showcase the wearable arts. So far we have designed and modelled some hats, accesories and last week we worked in small groups creating some wearable arts costumes. We had a fairy, warrior, samurai and some pretty girls costumes.

Thankyou to all the tamariki in room 20, you were all fantastic with sharing your learning from this year with your guests. Thankyou to all the parents and extended whanau who took the time to come and listen to your child talk about their learning pathway folder and what they were all so proud of. A great turn out.
